MgA. ANNA Plešmídová

She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts from 2003 to 2010. She spent one year studying in the Studio of Classical Painting of professor Zdeněk Beran, one term in the Studio of Figural Sculptures of professor Jan Hendrych. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in the Studio of Restoration of Painted Artworks of professor Karel Stretti.

During her studies at the Academy she did portrait painting as well as portrait drawing, figure painting, still life and loose figural painting. In the Studio of Restoration she had the possibility to learn many classical art techniques, technological procedures and materials both in theory and in practice. As a part of her studies she also painted technological copies in the National Gallery in front of the original exactly according to the method of the given author and the historical period. What was very beneficial for her career was the practical training in Dubrovník where she restored a part of a baroque wooden polychrome altar in cooperation with the restoration school in Zagreb. In the Studio of Figural Sculptures she did portrait and figure modelling using life models.

During her interruption of studies (05/2007 – 09/2008) she cooperated on an animated fairy tale In the Attic by the director Jiří Barta.

Over a long period of time she likes to do landscape plein air painting . She spent two months (July and August 2010) on the ridges of the Krkonoše mountains at Luční bouda to paint the landscape.

She was also a part-time teacher of the National Gallery in Prague at Veletržní palác in the years 2010-2012 where she ran art courses for adults. Now she organizes her own art courses with MgA. Tomáš Kubík.

At present she paints natural structures, pushing them into abstract angles of view. She studies the principles, positions and popularity of yoga in our country. At the same time she paints with her daughter Maja (3 years) and thanks to her she develops her imagination as well as intuition. Pastel paintings which they made together were chosen for a British competition in London. The competition is held by the association of British artists in Mall Galleries.
